Harry Stedman Visits Cow&Co Born out of the desire to show people there are some really great design products out there Cow&Co has become a refreshing retreat in the midst of the Liverpool cityscape, from in house designed crockery to a very popular selection of lighting, tote bags that double as backpacks to a myriad of stylish stationery. All items are a result of some serious site hopping by owners Nicola & Ben Holroyd sourcing products from all around the world to amalgamate a stock list that reflects their great personal tastes. Having launched online in 2010 and creating a tangible store since only last year it’s an oasis of calm in more ways than one. For a start there’s the fantastic products available, almost all of which you won’t find in any high street store. Then there’s the location itself, situated at no15 on the leafy Cleveland Square a literal stones throw away from the city’s main shopping complex, however it can feel as though your million miles away. Also, with reoccurring comments from customers about how they wish they could chill out for a little longer, an in-store café has now started to gather momentum. A true international marketplace, products are sent all over the world just as quickly as they’re sourced, destinations such as Finland, Australia and USA in the last week alone. If you’re in the immediate vicinity though you can have your purchase brought to you on foot, a personal service that’s central to the Cow&Co ethos. From the moment you enter the shop and the bell on the door rings your eyes are drawn in every direction, a great choice of magazines adorn one wall whist vintage inspired scissors and plenty of other beautiful and utilitarian items are neatly presented. With a mild case OCD we couldn’t resist the slender keyboard memo pad for our excessive list making. The simple things in life eh. So what started life as an idea for an Invitation company, Cow&Co is now a uniquely cool and stylish store that’s miles apart from any other in the city. If you’re in the area and wouldn’t mind a refreshing browse then drop by this little gem, you’re sure of a welcoming smile, a great service and fantastic products.   Cow&Co 15 Cleveland Square Liverpool, L1 5BE www.cowandco.co.uk
